Questions – (1) It is stated in the introduction that “the ‘founding fathers’ instigated and fought a revolution to secure independence from Britain, but they did not fight that revolution to secure democracy.” Does this imply that they were fighting for the abstract concept of independence and the idea for a democratic government was an after thought?
